Description

In this lesson students will go through listening to check if they could do exercises fill in the gaps. Then they will find out about meaning ,form and pronunciation of some noun phrases. They will also play a role about complaining.

Main Aims

  • To provide practice of language used for making complaints in the context of telephone bills, internet problems etc

Procedure

Before setting a context activity (3-5 minutes) • To connect to previous lesson about listening

Teacher will give to students handouts with Exercises no 1 First student will try to fill in the gaps. After few minutes student will listen to listening again and check answers in pairs.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Teacher will write on the board question: What is the thing that human can do but animals can not? T will wait a minute for students to discuss the subject in pairs. T will ask students to approach White Board and write all together the ideas. After this teacher will write second question which is: What is the thing that only human can do on Earth?

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

First teacher will ask students to speak about the meaning of verbs: Explain Say Express Respond After quick chatting teacher will give model sentences to students and then ask CQS. Models with CQs Word - Express I found it very hard to express how I felt about her. CQs 1.Did she understand how you felt about her? 2.Did you find it easy to how your feelings? Word – Respond I wrote to them last week but they have not responded yet. CQs 1.Did you get any answer from them? 2Did you get anything last week from them? 3.Have you been waiting for something since last week? Word – Explain Dictionary explains the meaning of the words. CQs 1.Can you find the meaning of the word in dictionary? Teachers assume students will know the meaning of word say. After this teacher will write on the board : Explain (v) Say (V) Express (V) Respond (V) Teacher will drill words and show the stress.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Students will be given handouts fill in the gaps. Firstly students will do it by themselves then will check correct answers in pairs. After this whole class feedback.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Teacher will ask students to work in pairs. Teacher will give to students hangouts with task. Teacher will ask students to do role play . Teacher will monitor and do error correction.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Teacher will ask students to work in pairs. How should look like perfect complain and perfect response?/ How should look like the worst complain-response ever?
