Description

In this lesson students will learn new vocabulary about animal species while engaging kinds of relevant activities. The lesson will start by showing a picture of some famous animals. After reviewing the things that they understand from the picture I will ask them some questions to find some animals. Afterwards we go for conversation. In this step we have some fun and informative activities to learn it better. It will continue by teaching comparative grammer with the realia. At the end, students will work in pairs and make sentences with this grammer. We have a lot of game during the class too.

Materials

Abc Picture, Audio file track 135, board, Audio file track 136, video, mask, Red and yellow cards, fruit

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of animals and practice of comparative grammer. So that they it in the simplest way.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide and use correct comparative grammer in their speech

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To make general background in students mind about what they are going to learn in this lesson and make theme aware of it.

I show a relevant picture in order to show students what this lesson is about and make the familiar with the topic. In addition to this I wear a cow mask and want them to show their favorite animal in this picture and make its sound.

Working on MPF (5-10 minutes) • To teach and illustrate what these words mean, how to pronounce and write them.

In this step I teach the words with the animals picture and play the audio. During the listening of audio, students should repeat after the audio. By repeating the words, we create an attractive rhythm.

Pre-teaching conversation (5-10 minutes) • To challenge students thoughts about relevant video and remember the words said in the video.

I play a video about the conversation and ask them to tell me what's going on this video and ask which animals did you see in this video? Answering with some sentences would be enough.

While teaching conversion (3-5 minutes) • Listening and repeating in order to correct mispronunciation

Students listen to the audio of the conversation then I write the hard words that they will face in the conversation on the board, to explain their meaning befor they go through it.

Post teaching conversation (10-20 minutes) • To make student see the use of relevant sentences and vocabulary through the conversation and make a new story by these sentences.

I make two story with the conversation and some pictures instead of words in the story. Then I divided the students into two groups. They should put the name of these picture in the story and tell the complete story to other group.

Pre-teaching grammer (5-10 minutes)

Play a video related to comparative and I show some realia to better understand the concept of comparison.

While teaching grammer (5-8 minutes)

Teach the from of this grammer on the board and answer the book questions.

Post teaching grammer (5-10 minutes)

I ask them to bring something and compare with each other one by one.

Game-like-activity (2-5 minutes) • Students are practicing the vocabulary by kinesthetic and visual activity.

I choose one of students randomly to draw an animal and other should guess what it is.
