Test #1 (3-5 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T hangs flashcards with the TL on them, divides ss into pairs/ groups (depending on the no.of present ss), gives them a number of flashcards, asks them to put the flashcards under the right category on the board: location, adj. and nouns.

Teach (10-12 minutes) • To clarify meaning, pronunciation and form of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T goes through the TL clarifying it (see attached LA lexis sheet)

Test #2 (3-5 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

In pairs/groups, T distributes the pics for them to match to the words on the flash cards.o/c feedback

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Individually, ss choose a place to write about in a paragraph. T guides them before writing then they are given 10 mins to write. Then , ss hang their writing around the room for their peers to read and decide the nicest place. Content/ language feedback.
