Subsidiary Aims

To provide a review of present simple of to be, personal pronouns, possessive adjectives.
Procedure (27-35 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Ask random questions about countries and family. Ex: 1. What is your favourite country? 2. Where is your family from? 3. What work do you want to do in the future? 4. What work do your parents do? 5. Where would you like to live? 6. Who is your favourite relative?
Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language
Explain the usage of the verb to be. Explain the utility of the possessive adjectives // english possessive and of articles Then, ask some grammatical questions and if there are any doubts.
Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
Do the exercises from the book. Pages 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Wrap up (8-10 minutes) • Review the contents with a smile
