If students fail to come up with the intended vocabulary, they will be guided through some incomplete phrases like: Nice to..., nice to...........you, too.

Content preparation (5-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening. Prepare students for the content of the task.

- T tell the students that we are focusing on phrases we use when we meet new people and vocabulary words related to countries and nationalities. - T show students a picture and ask where the people are. - Play recording. (C1, track 12 and 13). -T puts on the screen 3 conversations and elicit which expressions they listened in the audio file.

Language preparation (5-6 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks. Prepare students regarding the language needed for the task.

MFP using two expressions and feelings from the Content Preparation task. (M) I am from ____________, I am ___________. Brazil, Brazilian. Russia, Russian. (F) Countries are nouns requiring the 'from' word to make sense. Nationalities are adjectives so the word 'from' is not needed. (P) Stress is usually on adjectives. (A) Appropriacy is neutral.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills. Task focused [mainly] on fluency.

In pairs, students have a short conversation using the learned expressions. Round 1: Use the learned expressions (Nice to meet you), countries, and nationalities. Round 2: Use the learned expressions using different countries and nationalities. Round 3: Use the learned expression using fake identities to keep practicing the vocabulary words. After each round, OCFB is shared to clarify some content.
