To have Ss brainstorm ideas in groups and help each other remember vocab and grammar patterns in order to make passive knowledge active. And to see language producing is happening.
Procedure (28-44 minutes)
First off, this lesson plan is designed for 8 groups of 3 . T will arrange the chairs and tables accordingly before Ss enter the classroom. I will show a pix of Atlantis on the power point. CCQ: 'where is this place?' 'were was it?' / 'did it really exist?'/ 'Are we sure?' ' aha, what do we call a place where we are not sure if it existed or not?'...'A legendary place!...great ! '
T links the warmer with introducing "mini saga'. she shows the definition of a mini saga on the power point. have them read it for a minute. then T will show an other page on the power point which consists of several CCQs and as WC activity will elicit the correct answers.
Then she will divide the Ss into almost 8 groups of 3. Give each group a cue card with some vocab and phrases. Ss should work together and write 3 more words on the cue cards and then using them try to write the first draft of the writing.T will instruct that one of the Ss can take the responsibility of a secretary writing the ideas for the group. T will monitor and take notes of any recurring problems specially related to the vocab and grammar 'used to'.
T will ask groups to swap writings with each other and will ask them to correct any problems they see regarding accuracy.
T will ask Ss to return thier friends papers. give them a few mintues to go over the problems. meanwhile she will write a few of the problems she observed while monitoring on the board and correct them WC.
T will give each group a fresh paper and Ss will write the final draft of the writing.
T will ask Ss to place the Writings on the walls and other Ss will walk in the class and read as the writings. T will ask ' Baris ' to give the class feedback about his favorite writing.
