Procedure (34-51 minutes)
T will draw the timeline and use years to help them to understand past and with the aid of visuals,T sets up a clear context. This must be done very efficiently. Afterwards T will CCQ very simple past verbs . T will use WB and divides the WB in two parts, one for regular and the other for irregular verbs. T will highlight the use of "ed" for regular verbs to help them understand the difference between regular and irregular forms. T have s drill the verbs.
SS will listen to the audio 2.17 on page 55. This activity serves a purpose to practice the simple past form of the verbs. Ss check in their groups. T will have the whole class feedback.
T will distribute HOs and Ss in their group match the present form with the appropriate simple past form. This task will give them more chance to practice the input in small lexical chunks. T will have FB. Afterwards, Ss should write the simple past form in their right columns either regular or irregular
T will ask ss to throw the ball to each other and say the present form of the verb, then the student who has the ball says the past form of the verb. it goes on like as a game.
Ss will practice the correct use of simple past form in the correct sentence in the context of last weekend activities. T Will ask Ss to write the simple past forms in No 2 in the correct number in exercise 4. T will have FB
T will give clear-cut instructions for task 1 on page 55. Beforehand, he makes a model by writing Andre, olga and Andre and Olga on the WB and do the first one. Then, in their groups they do the task. Afterwards, T ask Ss to come and write each of the sentences on WB below the right column.
