Description

In this lesson, students will learn new vocabularies about technology. The lesson will start of a pair work and to list down all technologies that they already knew. This is followed by a board work for each row will have a representative to spell what is shown on the screen. Finally, there are some controlled practice which students are expected to answer some of the activities on the book.

Main Aims

  • To provide and review new sets of vocabulary words such as, computer, headphones, keyboard, screen, webcam, speakers, digital camera in the context of Vocabulary- Technology

Subsidiary Aims

  • To practice the new vocabulary words and mastering the spelling.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Gauging students idea how they know and understand the term technology and being "techie." Have them watch a video about technology.

Pair work (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language and new vocabulary.

Students are in a pair work - together, brainstorm and create a list of as many technology-related words as they can. These can include terms related to gadgets, software, internet, programming, social media, and more.

Teach (10-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Students will see several pictures displayed on the screen. Each image represents different technologies, such as devices, software, or internet-related tools. Discuss how this technology helps improve our daily lives. Think about how it makes tasks easier, faster, or more efficient.

Boar Race Activity (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Divide the class into two or more teams. Each team will have a representative, with the first person in line holding a marker. The goal of the game is to write the correct spelling of the technology flashed on the screen. The first team can identify will run and write the correct spelling on the board.

Free practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students will prepare their book and will answer activity 1 from their book.
