Subsidiary Aims

-
To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of daily routines
Procedure (36-45 minutes)
I will start my lesson by greeting the learners. Then I will give them cut outs with vocabulary words for daily routines and will ask them to match them with pictures displayed on the wall. Once they complete it, I will have them show the picture to the class and read out the verbs. I will drill some of the trickier verbs, like leave/live, work/walk etc.
In small groups the students will be asked to categorise the vocabulary according to time. The early finishers will write the answers on the WB.
A short power point presentation will be shown to the learners to give them an idea what "a glamorous life" means. It consists of some of the things related to film industry and photos of some popular Turkish actors.
The learners will be shown a photo of the actor Sam Dane and will be asked to guess what an actor's daily routine is like. The students will be asked to do a short exercise (2a,b). The students will the answers on the worksheet and will share answers in pairs.
The students will be asked to scan read the text and tell what the text is about.
The learners will be given handout to read the text about Sam Dune's daily routine thoroughly and respond to the true/false exercise (ex-3). Then the correct answers will be discussed in groups before getting the final feedback.
In pairs or in groups the students will ask and tell about each others' daily routine. Sample sentences could be "What time do you get home?" I get home at 9 in the evening. etc. It will be followed by delayed error correction.
