Main Aims

To provide the students with a good understanding of the meaning of the text and the writer: whether it's past or present, the writer agrees or disagrees
Subsidiary Aims

To make the students discuss and share their ideas about marriage, its advantages, disadvantages, what's the situation of marriage in our country.
Procedure
They will see some examples of invitation cards and some pictures of the weddings they will also listen to two different songs that are commonly used in our weddings. This will be helpful for getting them throug the context of our next reading session i think.
They will discuss about the sentence "Marriage is a thing of the past" (in groups of 2 people) Do you agree? or Disagree? They will share their ideas.
They will have a quick reading (skimming) to get the idea of the writer. After that they will have a closer reading so as to match the sentences with the paragraphs. Finally the answer key will be shown for checking.
They will be in groups of three. Each group will be given with a different topic about the marriage: 1st group: Is marriage changing in your country? Why? 2nd group: At what age people get married? What is the ideal age for marriage why? 3rd group: What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting married? after that one person will change with another one from the other group to see the ideas of others. Depending on the time i'll want them to show their ideas on the board by writing on the cards.
