Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide review of verb to be and personal pronouns in the context of a text about London.
-
To provide practice of adjectives of description in the context of London and Istanbul.
Procedure (33-45 minutes)
I will show the learners some pictures of London and ask them to use the given headings to label them. I will also find out if they know anything else about London.
The learners will complete several sentences about London using adjectives from a box. They will then use the same words to describe Istanbul.
The learners will read the blog quickly (1 minutes) to decide where it comes from and what it is. They will check their answers in pairs before whole class feedback is received.
The students will read the text again and decide if ten sentences are true or false: any false statements will be corrected. They will check their answers in pairs before whole class feedback is received.
The learners will complete several questions about Annalisa. They will then ask and answer the questions in pairs and record the answers. Feedback will be received.
The learners will describe something important to themselves to their partner. They will have time to prepare before speaking. The teacher will make a note of any errors.
