Procedure (35-45 minutes)
I start begin my class by thanking them for joining the class and by saying a short hello to each of them, as long as there are no more than4 students. I will then ask openly what are some of the best jobs and some of the worst jobs, and I will give an example of my dream job so they know what type of answer I´m looking for. If we don´t take too long I may ask another question such as what their dream job is
I will then ask the students what they think of jobs like nurse, electrician and banker. We will then listen to the audio and talk a little bit about what they think about those jobs after hearing the audio and I will give OCFB. After hearing this audio I will hand them an intensive reading task I designed to introduce the TL. I will solve 1 myself individually so they can see what I expect, and I will then ask each of them to solve 1 with me so they understand fully how to do the exercise unless there are more than 4 students in which case I will just do 4 with them and let them do the rest on their own
I will show students a simplified table of the language analysis sheet and explain the things on the table, including meaning, form and pronunciation. I will especially focus on the pronunciation having them repeat the pronunciation after me. I will try to give students a chance to give me the answer in terms of meaning, form and pronunciation before revealing the answer
To check if they understand I will send them a google forms so that I can see if they have progressed from the beginning of the lesson. I will once again do 1 by myself to show them, then I will do 1 with each student as long as there are 4 or less students and then I will let them finish the rest of the activity. Once they are done I will send them into breakout rooms to check each other. To finalize this stage I will show them the answers and will ask if they understand why the answers are correct and theirs are incorrect if they make any mistake.
To finalize I will have them do a free practice with some questions from the book reminding them to use the TL they learned in my class as much as possible to practice.
