Procedure (37-47 minutes)
I will begin my class as always by thanking them for coming and and saying a short hello to each of them, as long as there are 4 or less students. I will then ask openly if there is any event that has changed their life, and before they respond I will give an example of an event that changed my life so they know what type of answer I´m looking for.
I will then show students a text from the workbook that they have to fill in gaps with the target language. I will give students handouts and let them solve it on their own. Once they are finished I will begin reading the text and stop whenever there is a blank space asking a student for the answer. If they are correct I will continue and include their answer in the text, if they are incorrect I will try to say it with their answer so that maybe they hear it sounds wrong and then see if anyone else has the answer. If no one else has the answer I will give it
I will show students a simplified table of the language analysis sheet and explain the things on the table, including meaning, form and pronunciation. I will especially focus on the pronunciation having them repeat the pronunciation after me. I will try to give students a chance to give me the answer in terms of meaning, form and pronunciation before revealing the answer
I will give the students a handout of page 40 Ex.A so that they can solve it individually. I will then ask them to check in breakout groups their answers. I will then bring them back to the main group and check their answers and correct if needed.
I will put on the presentation 6 questions so that they can talk to each other, trying to make questions that force them to use the TL. I will then give them a small handout with the questions so when they go into their breakout rooms they still have them. I will let them speak in breakout rooms until their are 2 minutes left on my lesson time, at which point I will bring them back to the main session where I will thank them for their time and tell them I will see them on thursday hoping that makes that more likely they come to the next class.
