Description

in this lesson,sts learn a reading text based on American English book. the lesson starts with a question about T's activities and sts should guess which one is false. this is followed by some photos related about the reading and then they'll read the text through 3 parts : skimming,scanning and reading for details then there is a follow-up activity based on the text and finally there will be error correction to correct and praise the sts.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

to ask them which one of these activities is false, they should guess .

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

to pre-teach the blocking words with CCQs ( to clarify the meaning form and drill the pronunciation )

While-Reading/Listening #1 (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

sts going to read the text quickly and relate the photos with reading.

While-Reading Skimming (2-4 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

sts going to read the text once more and find the specific information on the text.

Rading for detail (2-3 minutes) • To provide sts to comprehence the text deeply.

they're going to correct the wrong information based on the text.

Follow up activity (2-4 minutes) • sts will use other skills to help them brainstorm their comprehence

sts will think about a Q related about the text and then share their ideas and talk to their partners in a group.

Error correction (2-3 minutes) • to get feedback to correct sts's mistakes and praise their efforts
