I will introduce myself. I will ask new comers to introduce themselves, or the students will make a quick around introduction. Then I will try to introduce the main idea of the lesson's topic by eliciting it using some teaching aids like pictures in addition to some questions. _ what if a conflict happen between room mates? - How can we solve the problems? - I will make the Ss focus on the dictionary entry and I will check their understanding and pronunciation of 'Compromise'. I will give an example of a situation where I have to compromise about something. then students will be involved gradually in the context.
At this point, I will start to prepare them for the listening task (pre-listening discussion). I will ask some questions to introduce the topic. - what type of problem may happen between room mates? (discuss in pairs). - how many learners experience to live with room mates or shared flats. what did the do to compromise in any of these area. - I will play the recording, make student listen to it and make them focus on the picture. I will ask them to write the names of the story heroes on the picture correctly. - Luis is in the kitchen, Nasser is on the sofa listening to the radio. Brad is in the armchair trying to read.
learners will discuss the three questions in pairs on in small groups. then I will play the recording again, so they can check their answers. as feedback it is good to check out how learners feel about living with Luis, Nasser or Brad. (taking in mind the traditions and cultural differences)
