Description
In this lesson, Ss will be dealing with three present tenses in the context of family history with the help of some activities. At the end of the course, they will extend their knowledge by discussing some given questions with eachother regarding the topic of the course.

Main Aims

To review and extend Ss' awareness of present tenses (simple, continuous, and perfect) and related time phrases, and to give controlled and freer practice in them, in the context of family and family history.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To give Ss practice in speaking for fluency.
Procedure (23-45 minutes)
Warmer (5-10 minutes) • To engage students and set a context
They will be introduced to the topic with some example sentences.
Card game (5-10 minutes) • To make sure that they can recognize the time expressions
Provide the Ss with cards and they will make their own sentences with the correct tenses.
Pre-reading section (3-5 minutes) • To prepare the students for reading text
Ss will read the text by themselves and they will be asked some questions from the text.
While Reading Section (5-10 minutes) • Students read for overall meaning of the text, focusing on the tenses
They will fill in the blanks with the proper tenses and then they will check their answers.
Speaking Section (5-10 minutes) • To engage students and make them review everything in a question based context
There will be 10 questions and Ss will choose the ones that they are willing to answer. Then, they will discuss them with their partners. After that they will change the partners.
