Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide fluency speaking practice in a competitive whole class game in the context of Housework
Procedure (32-44 minutes)
I am going to greet the students and introduce myself, and ask about the students names, so I should be familiar with their names. After that I am going to talk about my routines in weekends and I will try two or three mimes and gestures about house chores in front of them, so they should say whatever I mime and after that they will work in pair-group and one of the students will mime and the other will name the chores, in this time I am going to monitoring the students and interfere when needed. in this way I will warm them up in some kind of funny way, besides they will practice more about the topic.
I am going to give them 10 sentences about house chores and I put most of the verbs in wrong order, so they should work in pair-work groups and figure out the wrong sentences and write it again in the correct form, for example: I write down, ( dust the dinner ), so they should write cook instead of dust, as for me I will monitoring them and after 10 minutes we will check out the sentences in the right way.
I will give them a handout of 10 sentences about adverbs of frequency, and I will do the first sentence as an example and let them work as a whole class, so they will stand up and walk and ask each other about the sentences and make emphasize about the adverb of frequency so they write the name of the person who do the adverb of frequency with specific chores, so they keep moving till they complete the handout. and the student who will finish, is going to sit down and put their pens down. I will monitoring them and interfere when necessary.
