Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students see two pictures with the captions "We are hiring!" They share their ideas about what they are looking at and for what are these images.

Pre-writing (12-15 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Students see two model text of a cover letter email, the explanation for each part and options. Heading Greeting Intro Body Closing

Writing task (12-15 minutes) • To provide process and product writing practice

Students work in breakout rooms and write a cover letter email. The corrections will be in comments.

Follow-up (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback

Students share their texts and see the corrections to improve their work.
