Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of Present Perfect Continuous vs Present Perfect Simple in the context of Online course

Subsidiary Aims

  • To use vocabulary about the topic music industry: manager, pop star, audition, to sing, to dance, being talended, etc.
  • To introduce and practice how long, for and since.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students see an image and they have to talk about what they see, what is happening in the picture, persons, reasons, etc. The picture is about an audition with a music group and three judges.

Presentation (6-6 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

a) Gist reading and Task Students will have two minutes to read the text, then they will answer a Google Forms about what is the main idea in the text, answering: Why is the people under the rain? and For what is the audition? The group share ideas about castings b) Intensive Reading Students will talk about characteristics from participants and the previous work to arrive to the audition.

Language Analysis (15-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Clarification of MFP - I have been here since midnight. - I’ve wanted to be a popstar ever since I was little - I have been taking singing and dancing lessons for over a year.

Controlled Practice (6-6 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went

Students will answer some sentences to see if they are True, False or Doubt.

Free Practice (7-7 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

Students will talk about castings, tv reality competitions shows, and if they would participate in them.

Content DEC (5-5 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to plan students' reports
