Procedure (37-45 minutes)
Project a picture of an overweight person on the board and tell students that the person in the picture has a problem. instruct them to try to predict what her problem is in pairs. Try to elicit the words 'overweight', 'fit', 'wants to lose weight' and 'healthy'.
Distribute a copy of a dialogue to the students and instruct them to read the dialogue quickly and decide if the statement under the dialogue True or False. Let them compare their answers in pairs. Provide WC FB. Following this, instruct the students to find should and shouldn't in the dialogue and underline them.
Show a copy of Grammar Analysis HO to the students and tell them to answer the questions on it with a partner.
Give WC feedback and correct students' errors. Elicit the form and drill the model sentences.
Distribute Exercise 1 to the students and instruct them to fill in the gaps should or shouldn't i. Tell them to check their answers in pairs. Project exercise one on the board and give WC feedback.
Tell the students to write sentences to give advice by using the words on Exercise 2 before distributing it to the students. Tell them to check their answers in pairs. Give WC feedback.
Put the students into pairs. One person from each group choose a problem card and the other person choose a giving advice car. The one who has problem card tell her/his problem and the other gives advice. After a few minutes, the groups swap their role cards. Nominate some pairs to perform their dialogue on the WB
