in this lesson the ss will learn how to tell time and how to use the simple present during their conversation

Materials

Abc picture and hand out

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of related to how to tell time
  • To provide clarification of simple present in the context of daily routine

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

t gives the ss a pic and asks them * what can you see here* tnen gives them time to discuss the 2 questions in pairs then asks them * what about the first q?*

Test #1 (2-3 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

t gives the ss papers then asks them to match the pics with the sentences . t gives the ss 2 m to match it alone then asks them to check in pairs then t does WC checking

Teach (5-7 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

t uses the board to clariry to the ss how to tell time by explaining the wall clock and the digital one

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

t gives the ss papers and tells them circle the correct answer and you will have 2m and di it alone

lead in • To make the ss familiar about what I'm going to teach

t asks the ss simple q * what is your daily routine ?*

Exposure • To get the students exposed to the text

t tells the ss * now we will listen to an audio between Alex and his doctor about daily routine so i want you to listen without focusing on details and tell me at the end what is the problem of Alex?*

Highlighting • To get the students notice the target language

t tells the ss * now we will listen again but this time focus on details and at the end i want you to write notes about the routine of Alex and tell me one thing about him*

Language clarification (7-9 minutes) • To introduce the target language from the text using CECDW

t starts to elicit the phrases then tells them ok so is it something happinig everyday? then makes drilling then writes on the board and so on by covering the whole aspects of the simple present

controlled activity (4-5 minutes) • To practice the target language in controlled activity (accuracy-based)

t provides the ss with 2 activities to do them alone and ss will have 6m seperetly and t is monitoring in order to suppory the ss so this activity to check the accuricy the first one t does WC checking the second one shows the ss the answer

freer practice • To give the students chance to react

t asks the ss to discuss the q in pairs and they will have 7 m while they are standing and asks them to find something in common at the end and t is monitoring

Feedback ( content and language) (3-4 minutes) • To give the students chance to react

t does content feedback by asking the ss about thier daily routine then language feedback on the board.
