Procedure (38-50 minutes)
To create interests in the context, I will put a picture on the WB and ask the Ss one question about the topic and get their responses. ' How advertisements affect you?'
I will give the Ss a handout and instruct them to read it quickly without paying attention to the missing parts. After reading, I want them to discuss the title of the text with their partners and give a few examples.After getting the feedback quickly, I will instruct them to read the text quickly again and want them to complete the missing parts with the phrases A-G. And then I will get feedback.
I will intruct the Ss to look at the highlighted words in the text and want them to decide which ones express a contrast and which ones express a purpose. I will show them on the WB before clarifying form.
After showing the TL on the WB by using the computer I will try to elicit the form and clarify the TL. I will use CCQs to see whether the Ss understood or not.
I will give the Ss a handout and want them to circle the correct answer.After getting feedback, I want them to unfold the paper, there will be another controlled practice. I want them to rewrite the sentences using the words in brackets so that both sentences mean the same.
I will give the Ss another handout and want them to complete the sentences with their ideas quickly.And also I want them to check their answers with their partners.
The Ss will study in pairs or group of 3. I will give them some questions about advertisements and want them to discuss about the questions. They can add their own questions as well.
