Procedure (40-40 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Ask the students "what is the first meal of the day." then tell them what I usually eat for breakfast
Pre-Teach Vocabulary (7-7 minutes) • To prepare students for vocabulary and make it accessible
Ask students what they ate for breakfast in New York. Show food realia
Reading for Gist (10-10 minutes) • To have students read and grasp the overall meaning of the article
Give students an appropriate level article and instruct them to scan it quickly.
Reading for detail (10-10 minutes) • To have students read in detail deduction for deeper understanding
Students read the same article and told to read it more slowly. They are given a T/F test at tend
Productive Task (10-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
