Students are going to write a review (three paragraphs (intro-(body-opinions)- recommendation)

Abc Cutting Edge Intermediate

Main Aims

  • To practice product writing skills about a movie review

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide a writing review of describing a movie, a concert an event the students attended in the past.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T asks the following questions Do you like going to concerts or events?. What do you experience when you see a movie premier?

Exposure (4-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading a review of the movie Wicked.

1 T- provides a model of the writing for a reading gist. 2 T- Identifies the layout of the coming task. Students do a match activity

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T- provides activities on Meaning, Form, and Appropriacy T- elicits info from Ss and completes the figures.

Productive Task(s) (12-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T- Designs a task that gets the learners to practice the language meaningfully. T- assigns the following task to Ss. A. Think about a movie or event you attended. B. Write a review (three paragraphs) 1. Intro 2. (body-opinions) 3. recommendation C. Publish your review

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T - makes Ss Read their partner’s review and check the list. T- reviews the final products and give FB on content and language
