Procedure (20-27 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
I'm going to talk about my last week that I went on vacation to a village.
Pre-Reading/Listening (2-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
I will teach the following words weil talking about my weekend: Vacation Climb On sb's own (e.g. on my own)
While-Reading/Listening #1 (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
The students are going to scan the text for the first time and answer part 1b questions: What did Sam lose? Did he find it? Then we checke their answers.
While-Reading/Listening #2 (6-7 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
The students are going to read the text again and answer part 1c (only first 6 sentences) in pairs and check it together then we will check the answers with the whole class.
Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
I will ask the students if they have similar experience to the text (part 1f)
