Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

task brief T shows a picture and then elicits the topic from Ss instructions : - look at the picture and tell me what can you see ? -does the girl feel sad ? : yes - what does the women try to do ? sympathize with her

Gist task ( skimming ) (3-5 minutes) • To get the students exposed to the target language, (Gist)

task brief : T asks Ss to read the text and check if they were right ? instruction : - read the text and see if you were right . feedback : - T monitors

detailed task (3-5 minutes) • To get the students notice the target language

task brief : T asks Ss to read the text again in details and complete the gabs in the box instructions : - read the text again in details and then complete the gabs in the box - do it in 3 mins alone feedback : -check your answers together - T monitors to check that the Ss are doing the right task

clarification (12-15 minutes) • To introduce the target language from the text

task brief : T restates the target language using the marker sentences pronunciation: T conducts drilling patterns (group-gender-individual)

controlled practice (3-5 minutes) • To practice the TL in controlled activity (accuracy-based)

freer practice (7-10 minutes) • To practice the TL in freer activity (fluency-based) with some accuracy.

Feedback (2-3 minutes) • Feedback Content: To show interest in the Ss’ answers. Language: To praise good use of the target language and to correct errors in the target language use.

Content feedback: -T lets the students share in open class what they’ve been talking about. Language feedback: -T highlights some good language he heard, writes them on the board & praises them for using them. -T writes the errors on the board and asks the Ss to correct them in pairs. -T checks the right answers with them.
