In this lesson, students learn about how to interact and express surprising situations based on a reading text about "you're kidding" they will discuss questions together and relate to the text finally they will they will practice through controlled and freer activities .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

t shows ss short video and ask them to guess her reaction. t asks " what is your reaction when you hear something you did not expect ? in 2mins think in pairs. ICQs how many minutes do you have ?(2). then t listens to their answers and ask them to guess the topic of today .

setting the context (1-2 minutes) • introduce the text

t asks what do you think these 2 friends are talking about ? ss say different answers then t says they are taking about surprising situation .

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

t asks the ss to listen to the conversation and answer 1.where did the woman live before? 2.where is she living now ? 3.why was she surprised? give them sec to read the questions do it alone ICQs are you going to do it alone or with your friend ?(alone) play the audio . then t asks them to check their answer together . and finally WC

reading for details \ highlighting (3-4 minutes) • to scan and notice the target language

t asks them to read and complete the conversation in 3m and alone T asks ICQs how many minutes do you have?(3) then check together Wc

Clarification (6-7 minutes) • To introduce the target language from the text using “CECDW”

freer (7-8 minutes) • to practice fluency

t says now let's practice think of any surprising situation that happened to you ex you will never guess who i met yesterday i met my ex when i was with my new boy friend you have 2m to think alone ICQs leave your pens tell you friend about the situation and react on his situation . and find the most surprising situation ? you have 7 m stand up ICQs how many minutes do you have ?(7)
