Procedure (34-45 minutes)
First, I will greet the Ss and ask them how is their day today?
In this part of the lesson, I will continue the same grammar with Matt. a) I tell the Ss to look at the WB to check the animals. Then they will match the sentences in the HO with the animals on the WB. b) The Ss will fill in the gaps with the modal verbs that they learned in the previous lesson. The Ss will check the answers with their partners. Then the teacher checks for the WC FB.
In this activity the Ss practice the modal verbs with an activity. The T gives a model sentence on the WB first, then the Ss will have a controlled practice. a) I tell the Ss to look at the WB to check the model sentence. ICQ: What are you going to do with the phrases in bold? (change them into modal verb phrases) Are we going to use the definitions or just the modal phrases? ( just the modal verb phrases) The Ss read the sentences first and then change the phrases into their modal verb phrases. Then they check the answers with their partner. The teacher will do the WC FB.
In this part of the lesson, the Ss will work in pairs to fill in the blanks with a suitable modal verb phrases. The T will have a WC FB when the Ss are done.
In this last part of the lesson, T gives the free Speaking activity to the Ss. Ss will read the sentences individually first, and then decide if the sentences are Fact or Myth with their group. We have eight students in the lesson, so I can make two groups of eight. After the activity finishes T will have the WC FB.
