Main Aims

To provide clarification the grammar of modals including their meaning, form, pronunciation and appropriacy.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To practice speaking and listening both for accuracy and fluency & to practice reading for seeing the grammar focus of the lesson in the context of the TL.
Procedure (32-44 minutes)
1. As a warmer, I will show the coins and dices to Ss to talk about the possibility of a situation.
1. Ss will be presented the phrases will/ will not, may/ may not/ , might/ might not and could/could not on the possibility chart. 2. Ss will be divided into groups, (groups names as colours, cities, seasons and etc.) and match the phrases with the sentences. 3. Check will be by the audio also including the pronunciation.
1. Ss will be presented the phrases as "definitely", "probably", likely", "unlikely" ,"more likely" and "less likely" on the chart on the w/b. 2. Ss will stick these phrases on this chart. 3. They will be given the sentence-match HO and will work in pairs. 4. There will be teacher-check
1.Ss will change pairs/groups and will be given the sentence-make HO. 2. They will use the phrases from the former activity. 3. There will be group-check in which Ss will tell their sentences out loud to the class.
1. Ss will be given the sentence-rewrite HO. 2. They will use will/ could/ may and might. 3.They will work in pairs. 4. As a check, they will write sentences on the w/b.
1. Ss will be given the expression-use HO. 2. They will write the sentences according to their opinions by using the expressions. 3. After working individually, they will stand up and find Ss who have the same answers with them. 4. There will be peer check and Ss will say one of both their sentence and their classmate.
