Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Task brief : T asks Ss to imagine that they are planning a fun afternoon for students from different countries and suggest some good ideas for the event . Instructions : - imagine that you are planning a fin afternoon for students from different countries , and suggest some good ideas for the event . - Do it in 2 mins in pairs

setting the context (0-1 minutes) • to engage the students into the topic

PTV (1-2 minutes) • To help the students in their learning and avoid blocking the understanding

Task brief : T elicit the meaning of " Quiz show " from Ss instructions : - look at the picture and tell me what you see - do this lady ask questions for the kids ? : yes - are they trying to answer ? : yes - do those questions have a limited time ? : yes - is it shown on the TV ? - what do we call this ? : quiz show

Gist task (2-3 minutes) • to skim ( general idea )

Task brief : -T asks students to listen and answer do they suggest any of the ideas they had in exercise A1 - instructions : - listen and answer do they suggest any of the ideas that you had in exercise A1 ? - do it alone . feedback : - check your answers together

detailed task (3-5 minutes) • To scam ( in details )

task brief : T asks Ss to read the questions ( Min-soo says "no" to the barbecue / cindy says "no" to the baseball / Min-soo says "no" to quiz show / cindy says "yes" to the video ) and then listen and find the reason for each one . instructions : - now read those four questions then listen and find the reason for each one do it alone in 3 mins feedback : - check your answers together

follow up activity (7-10 minutes) • to respond the text

task brief : T asks Ss to read the questions answer them instructions : read those four questions and answer them do it in 7 mins in pairs
