- Write one positive and one negative sentence about Ireland - Elicit some positive and negative sentences from the text on page 28 by asking some simple questions - Have SS underline some positive and negative sentences in the text on page 28 of the book (PW) - When they are finished have some students tell you what sentences they underlined and write it in the appropriate place on the board. - Elicit the form asking what do we call this etc.. 'subject+ have( in the present simple)+ past participle - Drill the sentence (making sure to turn the board around as you do so)
- Tell SS to look at p. 29 and do practice ex. 1 (in pairs) about life in their country. - When SS have finished show a scanned version of the page on OHP and as SS answer about their country, T will write about their own on the board. - The class can briefly discuss the differences between the two countries as a class.
- Different coloured paper will be stuck to the bottom of everyones' seats. When SS take their paper they must use it to find their groups. T will split the tables by a colour code (green, yellow, red and black) - Show a scanned copy pf p. 16 and 17 of the WB and have SS, in pairs, do ex. 4 (a) and (b) - When all students are finished tell each group to look under their tables for the answered version of the page and check how they did
- Give each S an ideas page and have them use 6 of these ideas to make true and false statements about themselves - T will demo beforehand by writing 3 sentences about herself and will ask a student if they think it is true or not CCQ's- Are we writing all true sentences? - Are we writing all false sentences? - Are we wiritng 3 true and 3 false sentences? - Are we writing 3 or 6 sentences? - Are we working with a partner first or alone? - Clear instruction will be given to show SS that this will start as an independent activity and then group work
- T will show students a pre-prepared poster about herself and hang it up on what it soon to be the 'class poster' - T will ask students to work in their groups and decide a name for the poster and write the name on a slip of paper which will be put into a hat or bag and picked out by one of the S (SS will be given a 1 minute time limit which will be displayed on OHP) - T will have SS work in pairs and design a poster about themselves using 4-6 sentences- Where they live? Do they have a garden? Do they have any pets? What time do they get up in the morning? What time they go to bed? etc... - Once all the students have finished have them stick it up on the class poster and all the class may get up at the end and have a look at all the posters and discuss as a group.
