Procedure (35-45 minutes)
T uses realia (a T-shirt) asking Ss what's this? - a T-shirt T writes sizes starting from XL ending with S on the WB. And asks Ss what are these? - size T asks How much the T-shirt is. - 25 Liras
Ex1 Page 42 Students match questions to answers .Ss check in pairs 1c 2a 3b T checks with WC for feedback. T clarifies the word "each" by holding a marker and asks about its price then writes it's 2 Liras. Next T holds 3 markers and asks "How much are these?" and writes 2 Liras each on the WB. Each =1 marker= 2 Liras T clarifies the difference between this and these . Write on WB *This marker (singular/one) * These markers (plural/2,3,.... or more) Drilling How much are these pens? What size is this jumper? (Falling intonation) Ex2 Add words in the gaps. Ss do the exercise in pairs.Then T gives them the answer key for feedback.
Ex3 Page 42 T sets the situation, we are in a shop. T writes few items on the board . Ss work in pairs to ask and answer questions about these items. If necessary T demonstrates the exercise with a strong student.
Ex1 Ss sit in groups of 3 and say what can they see in the pictures A&B. Ex2 T demonstrates the activity with a strong student then sets up market stalls in the class and Students A go with 20 liras note with things they need to buy and speak with the stallholder and buy these things. Ex3 Students B will be the buyers this time..
