I am going to show a picture to create interest in the topic of the text.I will put the picture in the middle of the board. I am going to ask a few questions. Which language do people speak in these countries?
I am going to show a picture of a native to elicit the word 'native' from the students.And also I am going to show two pictures to elicit the words ' population and relationship'. These words are relevant to the text. I am going to write ' 1.000.000 and 1.000.000.000' on the board to elicit the words ' million and billion). I am going to ask them two questions to elicit the word ' official'. Which language do people speak in Turkey ? What kind of a language is it ?
I am going to give The HO to the students. I want them to discuss the questions with their partners. And then, I want them to read the text quickly so that they can compare their answers. After this activity, I am going to give them another HO. I want them to complete the missing letters. I will show them how to do the exercice. e.g. Cana_ _
I want them to read the text carefully and match the sentences.After that, the students will check the answers with their partner.The answer key will be under their chairs. I want them to get the answer key. After that, I am going to give them another HO. I want them to choose the correct meaning. When they finish, they will check the answers with their partner again. I will do whole class feedback by nominating the names
