Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will watch "Everest" movie trailer to prepare them to our topic about adventure stories. Student will have a discussion about the reason that would drive a person to risk his life in that way. They should be able to see the motive behind participating in dangerous actions. Then they can answer a question concerning some elements that characterise adventure stories such as suspense and challenge .

Exposure (15-20 minutes) • To provide a model of production that will be a reference for them later on.

Students will be delivered a model of an adventure story. They will be asked to read it and then decide if it is a complete adventure story or not. Then, we are going to discuss the features of the adventure story starting with the opening and the two elements that must be included within it:the characters and the setting. Students should notice the progress that happens in the build-up paving the way to the dilemma.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Students should read the model again and notice the language used in the text. They should know the difference between the base and extreme adjectives. They also have to extract figurative language from the text and see to what extent it enriches the text and the events.Moreover.I will grab the students' attention to the short snappy sentences and dialogues that increase the readers' engagement in the story.I will grab the students' attention to the strong verbs and adverbs used to depict actions vividly.

Productive Task(s) (20-25 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Students will be asked to complete the model starting with embodying the real dilemma followed by the resolution and then the closing. They have to pay attention to the development of the characters and the shift the protagonist will go through.Students should pay attention to descriptive language along with the figurative one.

Feedback and Error Correction (10-15 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I will resort to peer check strategy to engage all students.Students will have a checklist on the board.I will comment on the common mistakes of the students.
