Materials
Main Aims
-
To provide Present Simple with do/does and wh- questions by showing the short answer forms of she/he and it subject pronouns. To practice things you like/don't like with verb+ing.
Subsidiary Aims
-
Speaking & Listening- To provide the daily activity phrases by asking questions and telling answers about them.
Procedure (30-42 minutes)
I will show the realias to the Ss and talk about the things we like in our lives. I will give some examples of my own sentences and ask questions (do you like cats? or do you like reading a book?) just as a preview and warm up of what they are about to work on.
(Task 7) I will show the grammatical form of do/does/wh- questions with she/he/it pronouns on the w/b. Then I will call Ss to write some sample questions and answers according to the form on the w/b. After this, the Ss will be given the gap-fill hand out. They will work in pairs and the feedback will be reading these questions & answers as a pair dialogue.
(Task 8) The Ss will be given the hand out to write questions with "she". They will work in different pairs. As a feedback, they will listen the audio twice.
I will stick the pictures and the verbs on the w/b and ask Ss to match them correctly with a board marker on the w/b. As a feedback, I will focus on drilling and pronounciation of the words including phonemics.
I will highlight the importance of the verbs in -ing forms and give examples of them in sentences with "like", "likes" and "doesn't like".
The Ss will be divided into two groups and their group tables will be marked by candle holders in different colours. Also, they will stick a small sticker on their HOs in their group color.(just not to be confused when thet shuffle) Then, they will be given the text handout. They will fill the gaps in the questions with their group partners. As a feedback, they will read these questions out loud. After that, they will stand up and shuffle to ask these questions to the other group members to fill the gaps in their own context. Finally, they will come back to their groups and read the text to the class. It will be a both group check for their answers and a feedback for the pronounciation.
