T writes sentences on the WB and ask Sts CCQs to elicit answers about each sentence about the TL. Sentences: 1 Italy is as beautiful as France. 2 Turkey is far bigger than Portugal. 3 Mercedes Benz is slightly more expensive than BMW. CCQs: 1 Is there a difference? (sentence 1) 2 Is there a difference? Is it a big difference? (sentence 2) 3 Is there a difference? Is it a small difference? (sentence 3)
T points to the HO and gives instructions about the task before giving them to the Sts.
T gives Sts the HO and gives instructions about exercises 2 and 5 from the workbook. T asks ICQs to make sure Sts have understood instructions and then T monitors to make sure everyone is on the task and micro-teach when it is necessary.T asks Sts to check in pairs and then T conducts FB in an open class feedback.
T divides Sts into groups of 3 or 4 and gives instructions of the board game. T gives each group a copy of the board, a dice and counters. T asks a student in each group to be the time keeper. While Sts are doing the task, T monitors to take notes of Sts incorrect sentences to highlight them on the WB for open class FB and further clarification.
T sets a context of comparing between Mel Gibson and Tom Cruise as actors and he asks Sts what they think to get them more involved. And then, T asks Sts to work in pairs and choose two things, places, people, countries, cities, etc and work on their own and write 5 sentences to compare between them. T asks Sts to work with their partner again and take turns to say their sentences. If one of the Sts does not agree, they explain why not.
