To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about daily routine in the context of actor
Procedure (44-21 minutes)
first ask which one of you work in the morning? which one of you went to work or university today? we are going to talk about "Daily routines" today *write on wb*, drill, now whats this? hold up the first picture; elicit. drill. student write the vocab on wb write? what time do you get up? ask these question from you partner
give them the hand-out they fill it in and then check it from the board instructions: we are going to look at the pictures with the words and match the times of the day which we have in this box with the pictures/ phrases and feel the blank boxes.
hand in the pics look at these pictures, what do you see? what do you think about this man? what does he do? what is his job? write on board: Camera, Studio, Cameraman *drill Now do you think an actor's life is exciting? elicit Glamorous, Typical, expensive (drill and write on board) drill*
Now in pairs, discuss what an actor's daily routine is like? ( for e.g what time Kerem Bursin wakes up in the morning? what does he do next? ) discuss this in pairs for 2 minutes monitor FB: 1 minute
Now read the text and check if your ideas were correct. (do not unfold the papers now please)check with your partner for 5 minutes monitor FB
Now unfold the papers and read the interview again, are these sentences T/F? correct the false sentences there is space here to write the right one. work on them on your own for 5 minutes. check your answers with your partners for 2 minutes hand-in the key answers monitor and FB
Now are you surprised about actor's life? Is it exciting? Do you want to have an actor's life? why? Do you think it's hard to be an actor?
