To present and practice the simple present to talk about daily activities and ask WH questions to get more information and find something in common with a classmate.
Subsidiary Aims

To present the meaning, the form, and the pronunciation of the verbs in simple present.

To use correctly WH structure for questions in order to get more information.
Procedure (34-40 minutes)
The students will be asked to mention some predictions about Kari Matchett's life and her daily activities. Some eliciting questions will be asked: do you think her life is glamorous? do you think is an easy job?
First, students will guess the times that TV actors do the following things: Get up, Have breakfast, Start work, and Have lunch. After, they will read the text and underline the verbs in simple present. They will do the activity individually and then they will share their answers. ICQ´s will be asked to check the instructions understanding.
In order to cover the Meaning of the verbs, some sentences will be shown and the following CCQ´s will be asked: - Are those verbs in present or past? - Do the mention daily activities or likes and dislikes? - When do you do the activity? - What activity do you do? Then, to cover Form two slides will be shown. The first one will have some sentences using the third person. Also, they will find the rules to add -S, -ES, and -IES at the end of the verbs as a reminder. The following CCQ´s will be asked: - When should you add -S? - When should you add -ES? - When should you add -IES? The second slide will have a chart to write the parts of a WH question. For example: - What time do you get up? - Where do you have dinner? - When do you finish work? - What time do you get home? Finally, to cover Pronunciation the teacher will provide some affirmative and questions sentences with the stress marked for students to listen and repeat.
The students will have some sentences to complete with words from the box and some questions to unscramble. The students will do the activity individually and then they will share their answers.
The teacher will model the conversation the students will be expected to have. For example, the teacher can ask a student: "When do you start classes?" the student will answer and the teacher may say "me too". Then, the students will practice in pairs the questions covered in past exercises. They will be encouraged to find something in common with their classmates. After, the teacher will provide some Delayed Error Correction to finish the class.
