To provide fluency speaking practice in a a group discussion in the context of Slips/ errors in language learning
Procedure (33-47 minutes)
1- I want you to think about your own experience with learning English What are the mistakes that you used to make?
I will ask the students about the mistakes that they make now, while they are still learning the language.
I will start by introducing the pictures of the speakers and ask the students to match each speaker with their type of mistakes. By this exercise, the students will know the type of mistakes that people usually make. and listen to different people from different cultures with different English accents.
The students will be answering 6 questions about each speaker and who... 1.Mixes up words with similar meaning 2. Doesn't know pronounce the letter h in her own language? 3. mixes future forms? 4.pronounce acronyms incorrectly? 5.confuse his and her? 6.makes mistakes with prepositions?
The students will be asked to identify the type of these mistakes 1.Well, I 'op you'll be very 'appy in the new 'ous 2.Don't mention football.He's been very sensible about it since his team lost 3.Next week I will have a party at my house.Would you like to come? 4.My wife loves books. This is his favorite one
The students will be asked some questions that are related to their process of learning English: 1. one kind of a mistake you want to stop making? 2.something you used to find it difficult, but now you think it's easy? 3-one piece of advice about speaking English correctly?
