Procedure (28-46 minutes)
In pairs Ss will discuss these questions: 1- which animals do people keep as pets in your country? 2- has your family ever had any pets? If so, what? 3- do you think fish make good pets? Why? Why not?
using visuals on the board, elicit from the Ss what they know about the animals in the pictures and which category they belong to. Will use some CCQs in this stage: mammals are animals having eggs or babies? Insects are animals with fur or they have wings sometimes?
Ss will be give handout, in pairs they will have to choose the right answer for each question, then they will check their answers with the others. feedback with the whole class.
Ss will be given a handout, it contains pictures of animals in pairs they have to describe them using the examples from the previous activity.
Ss will read an article about fish, they will have to answer some questions related to the article, they will check their answers together then with the whole class.
