Main Aims

Students will learn and recognize vocabulary related to community helpers: firefighter, police officer, dentist, bus driver, etc.

Students will be able to name and identify school-related vocabulary: hoops, jungle gym, ball, markers, shelves, scissors.

Students will be able to use the sentence structures "It is a /They are" for example:They are shelves, It is a ball.

Students will be able to use the prepositions "on" and "in" in context by describing the location of classroom objects.

Speaking Skills: Help students use the new vocabulary to name community helpers.

Listening Skills: Help students understand and identify community helpers when they hear them.
Procedure (40-53 minutes)
1_ Greet the students with "Hello, how are you?" and play a hello song. 2_ Assign a student as the teacher helper. 3_ Take attendance using a roll call song. 4_ Check students' workbooks. 5_ Ask: "what did we learn in the previous session?" and Review previously learnd vocabulary related to school objects.
Use real objects to highlight key vocabulary, prepositions, and numbers. For example: It is a box. It is a ball. The ball is in the box. What are These? They are markers. Let's count the markers . Where are the markers? They are on the box.
Practice pronunciation and prepositions (on, in) with real objects.
