Main Aims

  • Review and practice demonstrative pronouns (this, that, these, those) and prepositions of place (behind, next to, ...).
  • Students will review and reinforce their use of demonstrative pronouns (this, that, these, those) and prepositions of place (behind, next to, ...)

Subsidiary Aims

  • Speaking Skills: Help students use new and reviewed vocabulary to describe locations and objects.
  • Listening Skills: Help students understand descriptions of locations.
  • Review : Students knowledge will be reinforced by reviewing vocabulary related to farm animals.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1_Greeting: Say "Hello, how are you?" and then play the hello song. 2_Assign a student as the teacher helper. 3_Roll Call: Take attendance using a roll call song. 4_Workbook Check: Quickly check students' workbooks. 5_Quick review.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Introduce the review of demonstrative pronouns and prepositions using a farm poster or a picture.

Highlighting (6-8 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Use the farm scene poster to demonstrate sentences with demonstrative pronouns and prepositions.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

1_demonstrating the use of demonstrative pronouns and prepositions. 2_Practice pronunciation and correct any errors.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Use the farm model. Ask students to describe where different animals and items are located using demonstrative pronouns and prepositions.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Role-Play: Have students role-play as farmers , describing their locations and actions on the farm .
