Procedure (42-57 minutes)
1- Greeting the students with " hello, How are you? " Then, play a hello song. 2- Assign a student as the teacher helper. 3- Roll call, taking attendance using a roll call song. 4- Checking students workbooks. 5- Quick review with the question what did we learn about in our last classes ? 6- Play the jumping game to review previously learned vocabulary related to pets and to practice the structure 'I see a ...'.
Introduce the value by Showing a picture of children taking care of animals. And talk about the what the children are doing.
1_Use two puppets, one as the pet owner and the other as the pet, to show how to take care of a pet. For example, the pet says, 'I am hungry, feed me,' and the pet owner replies, 'Here is some food.' Continue with actions like giving water and etc . 2_Teach the new science vocabulary (dirt, worms, bug) using flashcards. Show each flashcard and say the word. Have students repeat the words. Then check understanding by asking questions like (what is this?)
Direct students to do the book activity related to the new vocabulary and the value of taking care of pets.
Draw a garden on the board and invite students to come up and draw a worm or a bug. Have them use the sentence structure 'I see a ... ' to describe what they've drawn.
Roleplay: invite children to role-play the scene of taking care of an animal.
