Description

In this lesson, students will learn about a set of adjectives to describe weather through a reading exposure about the relation between favorite season and activities. The lesson starts with a discussion about the students favorite season and if they think it has a specific impact on their personalities. This will be followed by a presentation of some picture or miming some adjectives to elicit them; Then, there will be a stage of language clarification of meaning, form and pronunciation. Finally, there are some questions to help students to speak about seasons and their favorite weather through choose the correct word or match and a freer practice via final role-play activity

Main Aims

  • To provide To provide students with the opportunity to practice speaking for fluency to select a future partner using weather adjectives introduced in the lesson

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ask students to discuss these two questions : what is your favorite season? what do you do in <season>.?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a pictures or miming or drawings

1. present some pictures of adjectives to students to elicit the adjectives. 2. miming some activities and adjectives to help them for practising

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

1.Drill the word twice. 2.write the word on board 3. clarify the meaning ,pronounciation and form

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice by matching activity.
