Abc Farm model and animals

Main Aims

  • Students will practice using location phrases such as "Where is the lamb? Here it is"
  • Students will be able to understand and follow a simple story about farm animals.
  • Students will be able to identify farm animals using phrases like "This is a ..." and "These are ...".

Subsidiary Aims

  • Speaking skills: Students will use new vocabulary in simple sentences.
  • Listening skills: Students will understand and follow the story.
  • Vocabulary: Students will review and reinforce farm animal vocabulary and location phrases.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (15-20 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1- Greeting the students with " hello, How are you? " Then, play a hello song. 2- Assign a student as the teacher helper. 3- Roll call, taking attendance using a roll call song. 4- Checking students workbooks. 5- Quick review with the question what did we learn in the last session? 6- Review number 18 and 19 and the letter 'L' by directing the students to complete the book activity related to number 18 and 19 and the letter 'L' .

Pre-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1_Arouse Interest: Show them the farm model and ask, "Do you know what this is? 2_Activate Schemata: Use the farm model to introduce and review the farm animals (sheep, lamb, horse, chicken, barn, tractor, duck, cow). ask students to name the animals. 3_Give Learners a Purpose: Explain that they will listen to a story about finding farm animals. Ask them, "What animals do you think will be in the story?". Let's listen and find out .

While-Reading/Listening #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

say : Let's watch the video story and see which animals we can see and who guessed right. Then play the video story.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Now read the story aloud with the help of puppet and show pictures . While reading the story Pause to ask questions : 1_ what do you see? 2_ Who is this? 3_ What is this? 4_ How many (...) do you see? 5_ What shapes do you see? 6_ What color is the (...)? 7_ Is the (...) Happy or sad? 8_ etc.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Roleplay the story with different animals u can also use the farm model.
