Main Aims
-
The aim of this course is for students to gain the ability to create an image using an artificial intelligence platform.
Subsidiary Aims
-
It is aimed to improve students' writing skills by writing prompts as a side skill.
Procedure (30-40 minutes)
At this stage, students are shown sample room photos from the course book or on the internet and asked to describe their dream room. Students can describe what kind of items they want to have in their dream rooms using related vocabulary (furniture) and prepositions that they have learned in the module/unit.
At this stage, the teacher explains to the students how to use the platform. (The usage video of the platform has been shared in the drive folder. If the teacher has not watched it, it can be watched.) At this stage, some prompt examples that the student can use can be shared with the student. -"Make a picture of a cozy living room. Put a big beige sofa against the wall. Place a wooden coffee table in front of it. Add a blue armchair next to the sofa. Put a tall lamp beside the armchair. Place a rug under the coffee table. Put books on the table. Hang a picture above the sofa. Place a plant on a small table in the corner." -"Create a picture of a modern kitchen. Put a big island in the middle with four stools in front of it. Add white cabinets above and below the countertops. Place a refrigerator to the left of the island. Put a stove opposite the refrigerator. Hang lights above the island. Put flowers on the island and a bowl of fruit next to it." -"Create a picture of a dining room. Put a long table in the middle with six chairs around it. Hang a chandelier above the table. Place a sideboard against the wall behind the table. Hang a mirror above the sideboard. Put flowers in the center of the table. Place plates and cutlery neatly. Add a rug under the table and chairs."
At this stage, students are expected to do their tasks in accordance with the instructions given. While students are doing their tasks, the teacher can help the student when necessary. The student's activity can also be monitored through the platform. (Explained in detail in the video.)
At this stage, students can share the images they have created with their classmates and present how they created that image and what kind of input they used. If the teacher wishes, he can project the image on the screen.
