Procedure (33-45 minutes)
The teacher mimics 8 new words to the class. The ss have to try to find out their meanings by themselves. After students find out their meanings, the teacher will write the words on the board. Then the teacher asks the students to build up some sentences using the words.
The teacher hands out a worksheet where the students have to fill in the gaps with the words that they have just learned. The students check with their partners. Then, the teacher gives them the right answers, The students use the same words and phrases to talk about themselves. With their partners they talk about the activities they do.
The students listen to a conversation about leisure activities. According to what they hear, they have to put the slides in the correct order.
The teacher asks the students when and where we use the gerund -ing. Teacher tries to get answers from the ss. On the board the teacher writes sentences where he puts out (gerund -ing) Students have to try to answer the teachers answer. Together with the students, they clarify the grammar. The teacher doesn't write before the students figure out the meaning and form by themselves. Then, the teacher cleans the WB. Finally, the teacher drills the pronunciation.
Teacher hand out worksheets to the students. In pairs, ss have to write the ing form of the verbs in the box. Then they are supposed to put them into three groups according to their spelling. In pairs students try to fill out the box and check answers.
The teacher hands out worksheets to his ss. Students check out the examples. They think about some ideas about their own life. Then they share their ideas with different students in the class. Everybody is supposed to talk to each other about his/her ideas using the -ing form.
