Procedure (45-55 minutes)
I will introduce the topic of the article by writing on the WB. Amber and Sally are having the same context. I will check with sts the meaning of "Rebel" if necessary. I will ask sts what they think about it.
I will use the selection of flash cards for sts to make three sentences. I will put them on the table and ask sts to come over and stick them to the WB. The questions are 1) Did Princess Stephanie of Monaco have any children? 2) Did Macaulay divorce when he was 17? 3) Who had an apology from President Clinton? I will monitor sts and offer help if necessary.
I will handout the article and give clear instructions to sts to read five minutes and flip over the page. I will ask the WC to answer the questions. I will monitor them closely if they find the questions difficult. Answers are 1) Yes 2) No 3) Patty .
I will elicit the unknown words by using printed words and hand them out. Then, I ask sts to fill the gap sentences and match the photos with printed words. I will stick the pictures to one side and the definitions to the other side of the WB. Then, I will hand out exercise 1 and get sts to read the article. I will try to interfere as little as possible. I will do exercise 1 with WC. Next, I will hand out exercise 2 and get sts to read the article. I will let them do it in 5-8 minutes. I will do the exercise 2 with WC.
I will ask sts to give me any rebel example. They may know it from their friends, relatives or Turkey. I will ask these questions: Did you do anything like that when you were young? Or Do you have a plan like this? I will hand out the questions from Anecdote part. So sts can discuss with their partners by asking the questions. I will ask one or a few sts to share their anecdotes with WC.
