I will start the class by talking about the things that I did last weekend.
I ask my students to tell the class about the things they did last weekend.
I will write some of my students' sentences on the board in the correct past simple form.
I will clarify the meaning of the tense by drawing a timeline on the board and asking some CCQs like: Is the sentence about the past, present or future? (past) - Is the action completed? (yes) Can we mention the exact time that it happened? (yes) - The form will be covered by asking students the roll of the words and we will focus on regular and irregular verbs and the way the change when they are used about the past. The correct pronunciation of the verbs like: read, said, talked, asked will be mentioned.
The students are going to do exercise a on page 120 in 4 minutes individually. They will have 2 minutes to check their answers together and then we will check with the whole class.
The students are going to be divided into groups of 4 and talk about their best holiday ever in 8 minutes. They will be monitored and feedback will be given at the end.
