Procedure (26-40 minutes)
Ask Ss if they like reading novels and who are the famous writers in their countries.
Use PPT and show the FIRST slide, the pictures of the three books of which summaries the Ss will be reading. Ask Ss the meanings of Dystopia and Utopia. Then, show the SECOND slide. Ask if dystopia and utopia are something negative or positive. Ask the date of the pictures. Tell the books are about future/dystopia.
Tell Ss that they are going to read the summaries of the books but before they will see some key words from the texts. Show the THIRD and FOURTH slides of PPT. T lets Ss guess the meaning of the words with their neighbours and elicits if necessary.
Give Ss the text and ask them to read individually and answer the question below. Ss will check their answers with their neighbours. Then, T gives correct answers.
Give Ss the HO of true-false questions. They can check their ansers with their pairs firstly, then, T gives correct answers.
Tell Ss that they are going to listen a recording and they have to tick the common features of the summaries. Repeat the recording more than once if necessary.
This section is optional and depands on how time T has for the class.If T thinks there is not enough time, she/he can skip to speaking activity which is right after this stage. Give the vocabulary HOs to Ss and ask them to guess the meanings of the verb 'get' and fill the table accordingly working with their neighbours. Ask them to check their answers with their neighbours and for FB (correct answers) show the EIGHTH slide of the PPT.
Show the SIXTH slide of the PPT. Ask Ss to use the reading text questions and discuss the questions with their neighbours. Explain Ss that they can use the phrases on the PPT. Ask them the meaning of the phrases breifly.
